MN Gov. Race Polls – Pagan vs General Population

Two weeks ago PNC-Minnesota posted a poll and invited Pagans to cast their vote for the next Governor of Minnesota.  Before we reveal the results, let’s look at how the candidates are doing when the general voting population of Minnesota is consulted.

According to Real Clear Politics, Mark Dayton (D) is in the lead, but by a slim margin.  RCP averages several polls together to arrive at a composite score.  They currently have Dayton at 39%, Emmer (R) at 34%, and Horner (I) at just 15% – with 22% of of those questioned still undecided.  An interesting thing to note is that the two polls conducted by national pollsters have Emmer either ahead of Dayton or put the two candidates within the margin of error.  The two polls done local newspapers have Dayton ahead by 9 to 11 points.   The question becomes, is this race closer than the RCP composite or are the local newspaper polls correct that this is a runaway for Dayton?

Let’s turn now to the results from the (totally unscientific) PNC-Minnesota poll.

Community Notes; October 4-10

The Pagan Highway Clean-up is next Sunday, October 10 at 9:30am. Local Pagans will be gathering to clean two newly adopted miles of I-35. Sign up at: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=117120191675552 to get details. This is one of those things that makes me proud to live in Paganistan.

Many volunteers pitched in to paint the new location for the Eye of Horus, decorating it more metaphysicy. In less than a month they’ll be in their new location at 3012 Lyndale Ave. S. Until then, please continue to support them at their old location, as well as supporting other local Pagan businesses.

Another blurb from Paganistan’s very own Mark Digatono’s write-in campaign for Congress; “Republicans and Democrats have screwed up this country enough. Vote for me and let me screw up for a while!” (Paganistan Weekly and the PNC does not endorse any candidate, but this is just classic)

Twin Cities Pagan Pride

Twin Cities Pagan Pride occurred Sept. 25-26 at its new home in Western Minneapolis. I was there Saturday, and it was already well attended as we set up the UMPA information booth. As always, it is a great place to reconnect with old and new friends. The merchant room was crammed with booths and shoppers. I made it upstairs for the ‘Meet the Pagans’ workshop, a chance for area groups to introduce themselves.

Statement from PNC-Minnesota

Recently, the board of Harmony Tribe made some serious and public allegations about the PNC-Minnesota bureau and our coverage of the Sacred Harvest Festival in their Open Letter to the Harmony Tribe Community dated Friday, September 24th.   After an internal investigation, with the assistance of PNC-National, we have found no basis for those allegations.  We sincerely wish the board of Harmony Tribe had contacted the PNC prior to the public meeting held on Friday, September 24th as we are sure this matter could have easily been cleared up.
