Haste Sans Waste – Reused Eco-Convertible Fashion

An innovative show for Minnesota Fashion Week, “Haste Sans Waste” was all about convertible clothing. Clothes that transform to fit multiple situations without the major wardrobe changes. Not only do these clothes look good they drastically reduce the solid waste usually used in the world of high fashion. This event took place at the Honey Lounge on Sunday, September 19th at. 7:30pm.

Lady Liberty League Celebrates 25 Years Tonight!

LADY LIBERTY LEAGUE CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF PAGAN RIGHTS ENDEAVORS

Pagan Liberty ImageOn Wednesday, September 15, 2010, Lady Liberty League will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a reception in Washington, DC. The reception is free and open to the public.

It will be held from 7-9 pm at the Universalist National Memorial Church, 1810 16th Street Northwest, Washington, DC

National and regional Pagan Rights activists, spiritual leaders, and practitioners of many traditions will be taking part in this interfaith celebration. Participants include those from Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Wisconsin, US Virgin Islands, and elsewhere.

Founded in 1985, Lady Liberty League (LLL) is a national and global Pagan civil rights and religious freedom organization. LLL is coordinated by Circle Sanctuary, an Ecospirituality center and Shamanic Wiccan church that has been serving Pagans worldwide since 1974.

Community Notes Aug 30th – Sept. 5th

Monday August 30 (tomorrow) is the BIG Sacred Paths Center Fund Raiser. There will be a silent auction, followed by a not-so-silent auction for the most popular items. Buy a bowl and fil it with delicious offerings (chili, soup, and other delectable items). There will be a drawing for the Emerald Goddess (if you have not yet bought your ticket, you can do that at the event, but you don’t need to wait). The Fourth Estate – Political Opinion

An article about the press is a good place to start political opinion writing at PNC-MN.

The term Fourth Estate has its origins in 17th Century England. It was originally used to describe ‘mob rule’ but mutated to describe the press as the fourth branch of parliament. As an independent entity, the press was presumed a force to keep parliament from straying to far from the truth in its propaganda.

The tradition of the press as ‘independent’ followed democracies around the world. The assessment of a true democracy became synonymous with a country’s press being able to write freely from its experience. This country began with a grassroots, locally based and owned news system. The “Colonial newspapers are unsung heroes of the American Revolution and the Revolutionary War.”
