Paganistan Weekly; October 11-17

The Highway cleanup went extremely well. The new stretch was far less littered than the old stretch, and the weather was perfect. The new sign is up declaring the stretch has been adopted by Pagans. There will be an article up at the local PNC this week: https://pncminnesota.wordpress.com/

There’s a new Pagan on examiner.com! Not very new, she’s been there since February, but I just found out about her, so go and subscribe: http://www.examiner.com/wicca-in-minneapolis/kristin-barton

The Eye of Horus’s big new store is getting ready, and looking great. The walls are painted, the floor is going in, and they’re imminently closer to the move. But wait, there’s more! They’ll be having a HUGE Grand Opening/Seventh Anniversary/Psychic Sunday Extravaganza October31. It’s a perfect opportunity to check out the new location at 3012 Lyndale Avenue, 3 blocks south of their old location, between ZRS Fossil and Smitten Kitten.

Community Notes; October 4-10

The Pagan Highway Clean-up is next Sunday, October 10 at 9:30am. Local Pagans will be gathering to clean two newly adopted miles of I-35. Sign up at: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=117120191675552 to get details. This is one of those things that makes me proud to live in Paganistan.

Many volunteers pitched in to paint the new location for the Eye of Horus, decorating it more metaphysicy. In less than a month they’ll be in their new location at 3012 Lyndale Ave. S. Until then, please continue to support them at their old location, as well as supporting other local Pagan businesses.

Another blurb from Paganistan’s very own Mark Digatono’s write-in campaign for Congress; “Republicans and Democrats have screwed up this country enough. Vote for me and let me screw up for a while!” (Paganistan Weekly and the PNC does not endorse any candidate, but this is just classic)

Community Notes – Sept. 27-Oct. 3

TC Pagan Pride was exceptionally exceptional. It’s so relaxing to be among our people. This makes it the perfect time to look ahead to Paganicon! Friday, March 25 to 27, 2011. People are already registering, and developing plans for presenting workshops. All the great programing of a festival without having to camp. Paganicon is exactly what local Pagans have been saying they want, and now it’s here! Check it out and register at; http://tcpaganpride.org/info/paganicon/

.

It’s only two weeks to the Pagan Highway Clean-up. Saturday, October 10 at 9:30am local Pagans will be gathering to clean two newly adopted miles of I-35. Sign up at: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=117120191675552 to get details.

If Pagans elected the next governor, who would win? Vote at https://pncminnesota.wordpress.com/2010/09/21/if-pagans-elected-the-next-governor/

.

Local Pagan musician and generally wonderful guy Mark Digatono has decided to launch a write-in campaign for Congress. “Any Idiot can serve in Congress, write in my name Mark Digatono and I will prove it.” Really, how can you not love a campaign slogan like that?

.

If every person in the Twin Cities who receives this went to just one event per month, then the average event would have 30 people in attendance. In October, please go to at least one event.

You can serve your community October 10 as the Upper Midwest Pagan Alliance gathers to clean up an adopted stretch of I-35E. It is so great that drivers along the interstate see that local Pagans are gathering to clean up a bit of nature.

TC Pagan Pride has lots of new information up at their website. You can now check out their programming schedule, vendors list, and more. It should be a great Pagan Pride event at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community September 25 & 26.

For those of you looking for instruction, and an opportunity for a first degree initiation, the Wiccan Church of Minnesota is about to start a series of classes. Contact TeachersRep@wiccanchurchmn.org for more information.

Ken Ra needs a new kidney, and you can help. Ken has signed on with the Paired
Kidney Program through Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Kidney Transplant Unit. If
he can get someone to donate a kidney, (whether it’s a match for him or not)
then someone else in the program can get him a kidney. This will drastically
reduce the wait, which is usually between 3 to 5 years. Ken needs a kidney
sooner than that. For more details, write to lizshomeservices@gmail.com

The Wiccan Church of Minnesota is offering a Wicca First Degree Series
–Basics for Solitaries.
The classes will run Sundays , Oct 3 – Nov 21, 5 – 7

The Magic Mama put on a great show at Minnehaha Falls. In fact she made such a
positive impression that she was booked for Pagan Pride on the spot. So event
organizers, come to Pagan Pride and check out Magic Mama because you might want
to book her too, and keep her coming back to the Twin Cities.

The musical entertainment for this year’s TC Pagan Pride is really coming
together. So far they’ve got Rumgumption (Celtic music featuring a champion
harpist), Totally Northern Tribal Dancing, Murpy’s Midnight Rounders, Folk
Magic, and Magic Mama. So be sure to come to Lake Harriet Spiritual Community
September 25 & 26 for Pagan Pride.

The SPC No Need to Panic fundraiser was a delightful success with the Emerald
Goddess being won by Gypsy Nilsen. Congratulations to Gypsy and all the other
participants who took home the wonderful items and donated to our Pagan
community center.
